CLOSE YOUR EYES AND ENJOY!

Hello friends! Are you ready to continue our ride? I hope so!

As we said in the previous activity, our bodies need energy in order to work properly in our every day life and food is one of the main resources we use to get that energy. Everybody loves eating, don't you? I DO! Now... I have a surprise! Gather in small groups and close your eyes. It's time to use your senses and taste something. Don't be afraid!

Tasty, right? We could be eating all day! But it is time to do some research. In groups, follow these instructions:

1) Using the encyclopedias and the internet, look for information so that you can fill in the chart provided by the teacher. You will have to find the origin of your product (animal, vegetable, etc.), the country where it is coming from, the main dishes we cook with it, the suggested amount we should consume or any other interesting information you might find.

2) Once you fill in the chart, it is time to show it to your classmates. Decide the way you would like to teach your classmates what you learned. You can prepare a poster with pictures and the main ideas, you could create a Power Point presentation and explain the information about the product or you could also think of a short theatre play where you show everyone the origin of the food you learned about. It's up to you! Remember it is a group task and sharing ideas is the best way to learn from each other.

3) Giving and getting feedback is very important because we get to know our strengths and the aspects we should improve. Therefore, when the small groups are presenting their work, you will be in charge of assessing each other, writing down a list of things you liked from each participant and thinking of suggestions about aspects that should be taken into account next time.

Keep up the good work! Our ride and the surprises just started!
